How can I check my email from home?
Your school email is for just that... school email. Messages from outside the building are blocked by our servers and will not get to you at this address. Even YOU will be unable to access school email unless you are doing so through the school network. But there IS a way you can access your school email from home.
In your browser, type the following:
owa.bishop-mcnamara.org/owa
In the Office Outlook Web Access dialog box, type bmhs as your domain. Type a slash ( / ) and then your school username.
Type your network password and select LOG ON. (This is the same login information with which you log into your tablet.)

What IS my school email address?
Everyone at school has the same email exchange. Your email address is your username@bishop-mcnamara.org. When you need to email another student, simply send it to his or her username. Every student's username is his or her last name followed by the first initial and then the 2-digit year of his or her graduation.
When you email a teacher, simply type the teacher's first initial and last name as their user name.
Your email is only for school use. Friends from other schools will not be able to contact you at bishop-mcnamara.org.

Map my drives???
Every student has his or her own home directory. The directory sits on a server and allows for important files to reside safely . The server protects them from becoming lost when a computer crashes or has to be re-imaged. Network drives are only available on the school network and cannot be accessed at home.
To create a shortcut to any of your drives, right click on your desktop. Select NEW and select SHORTCUT.
In the TYPE THE LOCATION OF THE ITEM box, type one of the following locations (in red.)
Your home directory is a great place to back up your important documents (but not photos or music files!!) You can work on this drive even without your tablet.
The "Dropbox" is a drive that teachers use for students to turn in their work. Students can drag copies of their files from their Documents folder to the teacher's dropbox.
The Freshman Folder is where teachers will put worksheets and other materials you may need to access for classwork or homework assignments. You can drag a copy of whatever documents you need from this folder to your documents.
It's a good idea to rename your shortcuts (Freshman Folder, Dropbox) when you make them, so you'll know which drive is for which information.
